Great for families!

I have to disagree with the previous post: This place is great for people of all ages. I bring my kids (4 and 7) for youth night ($15/ kid) on Fridays. They love it! It's not a state of the art facility, but it definitely adds to the rustic climbing feel. My 7 year old had her party here last year and has asked me if she can do it again this year. She had both boys and girls here last year and they all had a great time. I just found out they have a youth climbing team that I am going to sign her up for. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I knew nothing about climbing when we first went and now I know how to tie the knots and run the ropes. There are adults that climb there too. They climb on the wall with ropes and also free climb on the boulders. This is a great activity for families to do together. My family loves this place and we will continue to go for a long time to come!

Dirty and Terrible Climbing

The place is dirty and the boulders are in terrible shape. This place looks like it hasn't been taken care of or cleaned in decades. People who have climbed before will be sorely disappointed. And don't bring your kids here!

Not a great birthday party spot
Reviewed by HelloMetro User on 2009-01-12T12:25:00Z

My son had his birthday 'party' here with four of his friends. We used the whole 2 hours ($100) for rock climbing. All of the staff were really great with the boys, _except_ for their 'instructor.' He really did not instruct them at all. He basically just stood there belaying, and offered no advice to them on how to climb or anything. He did manage to shout advice to other nearby climbers however, which further confused the boys. Once I started yelling encouragement and advice (and I know nothing about rock climbing), he finally engaged, but by then our time was up. The boys were well behaved, so I'm not sure what his problem was, but he missed an opportunity to gain future rock-climbing customers.
