Indian River High School Reviews

i used to be student at IRSH. ive moved unfortunatilly to a new school Pasquotank County High School. i love it at the best school ever IRHS if i had it my way id still be an IRHS brave... what am i saying i am always gonna be an IRHS brave no matter what school im in. and as for Mr. Frye he is the best principle ever.

I have had 2 sons attend Indian River High School . I have to say that Mr. Frye the principle is one of the most involved leaders I have ever seen . He is never too busy to talk to a student or parent. His staff will work as hard as possible to assist a student who seeks help. Both of my sons , one graduated in 2006 ranked 16th in his class, and my youngers is now a senior ranked 10 th in his class. I have to say Indian River High School is the best school in Chesapeake , warm, friendly , diverse and the best staff of teachers in the city

We've had 2 sons graduate from IRHS and have a daughter currently attending. If your children are motivated, they will have an opportunity to get a good education. The building is old but the teachers are generally dedicated and interested. In sports, IRHS usually ranks in the middle of the Chesapeake pack but sometimes breaks out and surprises the big dogs.

I'm not actually a parent but a student. Indian River high school is an excellent start to a better future. The principal (Mr. Frye) is amazing and stays in touch w his students. When a student is having a hard time there is a teacher around every corner eager to help you. Not only are the teachers excellent but the teaching is excellent as well.

Since 2003, our test scores have increased substantially. This, coupled with the exceptional leadership of the principal and the caring, competent staff, make Indian River one of Chesapeake's better high schools. The diverse population of both the student body and the staff encourage tolerance and lends itself to a safe environment. I am extremely proud of this school and its accomplishments. Kathleen Mayo, Math Dept.

It needs a good refurbishing of sorts, but the school has a warm and caring staff.

Very nice school. Big with alot of courses to choose from.

This is a great school. My son graduated last year and my daughter is currently attending. Fully accredited--one of the better schools in the Hampton Roads area. Diverse student and teacher population. Involved and caring teachers and parents. Principal exerts good leadership. All of this makes for a balanced environment that is not overly competitive but does motivate the student to achieve.

This ia one of the gretest schools i've ever been to
