She started as an external, worked her way up from a veterinary nurse to veterinary assistant and is now working her way up by participating in the veterinary technician program at Penn Foster University. Banfield is a graduate of Virginia Beach VA Medical Center, where she worked as a veterinary assistant for two years before getting her first job at Jolly Pond Veterinary Hospital. She now works as a senior veterinary technician, a position in which she now switches from lead to lead, as well as in a variety of other positions.
She earned her bachelor's degree in biology from UNC Wilmington and graduated in 2010. Since then, she has worked at various hospitals. She recently returned to the area from Atlanta, Georgia, and is looking forward to being back in her hometown to meet new customers and pets. Banfield will be Sierra's assistant, having earned a bachelor of science in veterinary medicine from Virginia Tech University in 2016 and a master of veterinary medical sciences from Penn Foster University.
